Product details

In the age of rationalization and cost savings, the possibilities that the Internet offers in terms of time and money savings are becoming increasingly prominent. E-Procurement generates new services that were unimaginable just a few years ago. As a result of this development, many processes had to be redesigned and adapted to the technical and content-related capabilities of the Internet.

The objective of this work was to present optimization potentials through internet-based procurement that is particularly time- and cost-saving in the B2B sector. The topic addresses both business management issues and the potentials arising from the use of information technology.

However, it became evident that the implementation of E-Procurement is generally not a simple process that can be executed in a short time. Rather, it involves a complex procedure that, starting with precise planning, leads to lengthy structural changes.

In summary, it can be said that E-Procurement is more than just electronic support for procurement. Through E-Procurement, the procurement area undergoes not only changes in the literal sense but also a complete redesign and restructuring. Economic improvements and technological innovations are core aspects of this new approach. It is no longer companies that compete, but value chains. The individual economic components were outlined and critically examined based on the fundamentals of procurement.
