The increasing outsourcing of state tasks from central administration presents new challenges for both the executive and the legislative branches. Despite the essential influence of Parliament on the management and control of outsourced units from a democratic perspective, the corresponding parliamentary tools have only been partially evaluated from the viewpoint of Parliament members thus far. This work provides an overview of the topic of Public Corporate Governance at the federal level in Switzerland and illustrates the interplay between the Federal Council and Parliament in the management and control of federal outsourced units. The focus of the work is on the Federal Parliament and offers a comprehensive overview of parliamentary instruments in the area of Public Corporate Governance, evaluating these tools from the perspective of members of the Federal Parliament. The author conducted interviews with Parliament members and integrated their insights with findings from existing contributions on the topic.
