Austria has a dense network of medical facilities that offer health services available around the clock. This continuous provision of services, along with fluctuating demand, poses a significant challenge for the staff and management of emergency departments, for example. In this context, the implementation of a valid tool is necessary to manage patient flow and prioritize this customer group based on the urgency of their complaints. The emergency department of the University Hospital for Children and Adolescents at the General Hospital of the City of Vienna has opted to implement the British Manchester Triage System. As part of the present study, patient satisfaction with this system was assessed.
