The production of the Souverän barrel involves an elaborate process, as a striped piece of material is created from cotton using a specially developed recipe for Pelikan, going through many steps. This material is then bent and subsequently shaped to contour with a diamond. The gold-plated rings on the upper and lower parts are fitted with the utmost precision before the writing instrument is polished to a high gloss.
