Souverän is the classic from Pelikan. The production of the Souverän sheath is subject to an elaborate process, as a striped piece of material is made from cotton material in many steps according to a recipe specially developed for Pelikan, which is then bent and polished to contour with a diamond. The gold-plated rings on the filling grip and cap are fitted with the utmost precision before the writing instrument is polished to a high lustre. The slightly springy, typical Pelikan beak clip gives this high-quality writing instrument its unmistakable design. The Souverän M800 piston fountain pen has an 18-carat bicolour gold nib and is available in EF, F, M and B nib widths. The M nib ensures a medium-width typeface and is particularly suitable for handwriting with somewhat larger strokes.
