In the automotive industry, characterized by strong competitive and cost pressures, the optimization and cost-saving potentials in logistics are increasingly coming into focus. However, the rising demands for the design of logistical systems are not yet met with clearly defined and standardized planning procedures and tools. Against this background, this work develops a comprehensive methodology for the standardized planning of the logistical system for material provision in production. The foundation for this is the identification and substantive consideration of the strategic and tactical planning areas of material provision, as well as their individual sub-steps. The subsequent analysis of the interrelationships that arise in the overall planning process ultimately allows for the structuring of the sub-planning into a holistic planning methodology. By applying the presented methodological standard, an efficient planning approach before the SOP is achieved, along with a cost-optimized material provision process after the SOP.
