A lively debate has recently emerged around political theology. On one hand, this is fueled by new theoretical impulses from emancipatory cultural and social sciences, as well as liberation theology, feminist theology, ecological theology, and postcolonial theology. On the other hand, pressing societal issues of our time, such as threats to democracy, social exclusions, and the impending ecological transformation, present new challenges. Against this backdrop, the volume brings together perspectives, continuations, breakthroughs, and reconceptualizations of political theologies.
