"Practicing with Respect" is a qualitative case study that focuses on teaching practices in a center for infants and toddlers in a major city in New Zealand. Inspired by the Pikler method and the RIE philosophy, the book particularly examines aspects of primary caregiving, freedom of movement, and respect for the trust and competence of infants. The author, Toni Christie, provides recommendations for professionals at the end of the book to enhance practice. The data were collected through non-participant observations, semi-structured interviews with educators, a focus group interview with parents, and the analysis of relevant documents. The data analysis is conducted through thematic coding of the observations and interview data, leading to well-founded insights into educational approaches.
