Product details
Prosthetic sockets are largely custom-made and handcrafted, and can only be tested with limitations using common methods before deployment. This includes, for example, testing a custom-made prosthesis for its maximum allowable break strength. Therefore, it is also challenging to make optimizations to a custom and handcrafted prosthesis. Considering the increasingly extensive standardization of processes and the ongoing advancement of manufacturing techniques, there is potential for both industrial and individualized production of prostheses. This change in the manufacturing process requires that prostheses be tested for their functionality and durability under stress.
