"Power Relations" is a scholarly book based on the dissertation of Iolanda Carvalho de Oliveira, which was written as part of the postgraduate program in education at the Universidade da Paraíba (UFPB). The book examines the dynamics of power relations and their impacts on the daily life of public schools in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. It aims to identify and analyze the perceptions of teachers and students regarding power relations, as well as to illuminate the specific micro-mechanisms that express dominance and submission in educational contexts. Additionally, it considers the forms of resistance of various actors within the school. The theoretical foundation of the work is based on the concepts of Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze, and Michel De Certeau, particularly concerning the categories of power relations, dominance-submission, objectification-subjectification, and resistance. The methodology includes interviews and focus groups conducted in public schools in Salvador.
