The book "Report on Social Mobilization and Institutional Building" provides a comprehensive analysis of social mobilization and institutional building in India, particularly in the context of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM). It examines the initiatives of the State Rural Livelihoods Mission (SRLM) aimed at mobilizing women in the villages of the Khatima block in the Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. By forming Self-Help Groups (SHGs), the goal is for disadvantaged women to collectively utilize their skills and generate their own income through microloans from financial institutions. The study, conducted from March to April 2016, analyzes various parameters of the SHGs and offers insights into the impacts of the SRLM initiatives. The findings are illustrated with tables and charts based on primary data collected during village visits.
