Simon and Ines are a happy couple – they are even expecting a second child. When Simon is diagnosed with cancer, their shared life is shaken to its core. But instead of freezing in fear, they embrace the challenge, live each day to the fullest, and start blogging to inspire others and to find a stem cell donor for Simon. During the registration drives with DKMS, donors are found for many other patients. Simon is able to save many lives, but ultimately loses his own. In July 2018, Ines and the children had to say goodbye to their husband and father.
