The book "Software Architecture Modeling by Reuse, Composition and Customization" provides a comprehensive infrastructure for modeling the architecture of software systems. It adapts existing architectural languages, viewpoints, and frameworks to account for specific characteristics of domains and organizations. This innovative approach enables architects to create tailored architectural frameworks by defining and selecting appropriate viewpoints, automatically adjusting existing architecture description languages to project-specific requirements, and ensuring the synchronization of architectural views within the framework. Furthermore, consistency and completeness checks based on defined correspondences and rules between architectural elements are facilitated. The methodology is grounded in the conceptual foundations of ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010 for architecture description and is generic concerning the architectural elements used. The proposed approach is realized through a combination of model transformations, web techniques, and megamodeling, and has been evaluated in the context of a real complex system.
