The Soil Conservation Service (SCS) Curve Number (CN) methodology is a recognized procedure for calculating runoff volume after a rainfall event. This method is characterized by its simplicity and user-friendliness, taking into account essential features of watersheds, such as soil type, land use, hydrological conditions, and the preceding moisture state. Originally developed for small agricultural watersheds, the application of the SCS-CN method has expanded to rural, forestry, and urban areas. Since its introduction in 1956, the methodology has gained significance in hydrological literature and is frequently used due to its practical applicability, despite certain limitations and the fact that it has not undergone a peer-review process.
