Social-communicative competencies play a special role in the selection of executives. High demands are placed on top, middle, and lower management in this regard. For her study, Agnes Krispel asked 116 HR managers and 746 applicants to assess 64 sub-competencies for a management level. The results show that personal competencies hold the highest importance across all levels. The requirements for activity and action competencies increase significantly with higher hierarchical levels. Expectations for social-communicative competencies remain stable and do not lose significance. Furthermore, the author makes it clear that competency requirements change across management levels.
