Spiky's Dream Journey to Africa is a children's book created by David Weidner, a young educator and fundraiser for Africa Rise e.V. from Bern, in collaboration with Ivan Ssebulime, director of the EDI Buwere Vocational Colleges in Uganda. Due to the lockdown, David was unable to undertake his planned trip to the project in Uganda and used the time to find new ways to continue supporting the project. All involved parties volunteered their efforts to contribute actively to the development of the world in a positive direction through the story. The proceeds from the book sales will support a school project by Africa Rise, enabling young people from Uganda to receive vocational training. Young individuals from rural areas will have the opportunity to train as masons.
