15 women share their life stories with each other - in letters. Today, these letters serve as touching testimonies of everyday life as it was experienced and shaped over three decades in the GDR and reunified Germany. Even just a few words can revive a world, providing a spiritual added value: mutual support in life and faith. For us today, it offers an opportunity to organize and reflect on our own experiences. The newsletter was preceded by a shared experience that connected all the women during their training period - the expulsion from the Arnstadt District Hospital (1958) due to their commitment to the values of the Diakonieverein Zehlendorf, aligned with the standards of a Christian sisterhood. As course sisters, under the guidance of their self-chosen course mother, the sisters maintained an institutionally independent sisterhood. This makes the two publications not only interesting from a historical perspective but also significant in terms of diaconal history.
