Scenes like punk, hardcore, and hip-hop are significant socialization instances for adolescents and young adults. The project-based study underlying this band focuses primarily on the research-internally heavily neglected scene medium 'fanzine' (a blend of 'fan' and 'magazine'). These 'zines', often realized as bricolage-like DIY publications by fans for fans, document important scene orientations that tend to escape the predominantly interview- and ethnography-heavy scene research. For the first time on this scale and from the perspectives of sociology, psychology, educational science, and gender studies, the performances of belonging, youth, the political, and gender in underground media are comprehensively and interdisciplinary analyzed.
