The book "Taxonomic studies on the genus Salvia L (Lamiaceae) in India" offers a comprehensive investigation of the taxonomy of the genus Salvia in India. It identifies a total of 31 species of Salvia, documented through field studies and consultation of samples from various herbaria. The detailed morphology of the species has been thoroughly examined, and key taxonomic features have been recorded to create a identification key. The identification of the species was carried out by comparing the samples with prototypes and type specimens. The authors also utilized online resources to make informed nomenclatural decisions. This work provides a valuable overview of the diversity of the genus Salvia in India and was conducted as part of the MSc dissertation of the second author.
