In Logic of Revolt, Alain Badiou seeks ways out of contemporary nihilism. He demonstrates how it is possible to break free from the capitalist logic that dominates the present under the guise of parliamentary democracy, and what can individuals do to free themselves from nihilist ideology and contribute to the construction of a new and more just world? Nihilism not only blocks access to the emancipative achievements of the past, but also prevents the design of a consistent future. As a result, it locks subjectless individuals into the empty busyness of a time without a present. It is therefore necessary to declare a true present: a present that permeates its past in order to create a future perspective from it. The path out of nihilism and towards a new present runs through four possible approaches to the forms of truth: artistic contemplation, mathematical proof, political action and passionate love.
