"The Measurement of the Radon Concentrations" is a technical book that focuses on measuring radon concentrations in various environments. Radon is a radioactive noble gas that occurs naturally, particularly in rocks, soils, and water. The book examines the effects of radon-222, the most stable isotope of radon, which is produced as a decay product of radium-226. It explains how radon-222 can potentially be harmful to health when inhaled, as it is associated with lung cancer. The study includes measurements of radon concentrations in 34 workplaces, 41 households, and 13 hospitals in Gaziantep, using passive solid-state nuclear circuit flow detectors. The results indicate that the measured radon concentrations are, on average, below the values recommended by the International Commission on Radiological Protection.
