Product details
"The World We Live In" is a collection of twelve philosophical lectures by Romanian philosopher Alexandru Dragomir, delivered during the communist era in Romania. These lectures address a variety of topics, including the function of questioning, self-deception, and the banal aspects with metaphysical dimensions. Dragomir discusses the influences of significant thinkers such as Anaxagoras, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, and Nietzsche, illuminating how the intellectual heritage has shaped the world we live in. Born in 1916, Dragomir led a life marked by the political circumstances of his time and remained largely unknown until his death in 2002. It was only after his passing that his notes were published, and this book represents the first English translation of his works. The publication offers a unique insight into the philosophical reflections of a thinker whose work was only appreciated posthumously.
