Product details
Erik Bombach investigates various drive concepts for cargo e-bikes using a Simulink modeling of the overall system and primarily compares them based on the position of the motor. Additionally, he evaluates the potential of dual storage systems, recuperation, and predictive motor control. The kinetic simulation of driving dynamics and the energetics of various load cases are also incorporated. The author also assesses the feasibility of a multi-motor drive, which has not yet found practical application. He presents three operating strategies that determine when and how much power each motor needs to deliver. His analysis revealed that the optimal motor position depends on the application area of the cargo e-bike. The derived model has a high adaptability due to its modular structure and can be utilized in a wide range of applications.
