February 1982: A man is found shot dead in the Outer Neustadt of Dresden. During his investigations, Volkspolice officer Uwe Friedrich uncovers the victim's connection to the foreign currency procurement company KoKo. As a result, the State Security Service withdraws the case from the criminal police. Uwe cannot accept this and continues the investigation on his own. Unwittingly, he researches the victim's past, revealing connections that heavily implicate high-ranking officers from the Volkspolice and Stasi, and he himself becomes entangled in a dangerous web of corruption and abuse of power.
