Product details

The Viola d'Amore is a historical string instrument that was popular during the Baroque period. It features six or seven strings as well as additional sympathetic strings that enrich the sound. Similar to the violin, it is played under the chin, but it is distinguished by its slimmer shape and the absence of frets. The Viola d'Amore belongs to the family of violas and shares many common characteristics with them, including a flat back and an intricately carved scroll. Its sound and construction make it a unique instrument that is valued in both historical performance practice and modern musical contexts.
