The book "Vybor" by Viktor Grinimaer addresses the history of European migrants who left their homeland during the ongoing internal conflicts in Europe. Invited by the Russian Empress, these individuals embarked on a journey to unknown territories. Over a period of two hundred years, they settled the undeveloped regions of the lower Volga, expanded into other areas of the Russian Empire, and established exemplary settlements as well as production sites in Siberia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Crimea, and the northern Black Sea region. However, these developments often occurred against the will of the authorities.
