This work aims to assist in decision-making when selecting the classic costing method for manufacturing companies. To choose the appropriate costing method, a relationship between the classic costing methods and the different types of production will be developed. The process costing, which is only used to a limited extent in the manufacturing industry, will not be explained in detail. Furthermore, it will be examined how the classic costing methods can be integrated into ERP systems and what master data is required for this.
