Product details
A Christmas story set in snowy Prague. Heartfelt tales told by Jaroslav Rudiš, brilliantly illustrated by his best friend Jaromír 99. Christmas Eve. Probably the quietest day of the year in Prague. Jaroslav Rudiš wanders through the metropolis on the Vltava River. It’s snowing, it’s cold, and the streets are deserted. Yet, everywhere one encounters the old and new stories of this city. Rudiš waits for his friends and in the meantime stops by several pubs. Here, over freshly tapped beer, he meets three lonely figures: Kavka (nicknamed: Kafka), the King of Prague, and an Italian woman from Milan. They all share their tales of this special day of the year. Of glowing lights and warming hands, of carp in jars, from whose eyes the deceased residents of the city still stare, and of the Christ Child, who comes to the same tavern every year and sneaks away on the rattling tram. During his Christmas stroll, Rudiš is accompanied by his best friend Jaromír 99, who has illustrated this magical and also tragicomic journey through snowy Prague. Features: with numerous illustrations by Jaromír 99.
