Four women in the northern Athenian suburb of Kifissia, a typical high-society neighborhood; the men are absent, and their love adventures and struggles are told on stage. A shared trip to Thailand remains an unfulfilled wish until the end. From this material, the author duo Eleni Chaviara and Dimitris Kechaidis wrote one of the most successful recent Greek satires, which premiered in 1995 under the direction of the renowned Greek director Lefteris Voyiatzis and has since been repeatedly featured in various theaters. "Like Reborn" or "With Power from Kifissia" is characterized by the fresh and lively language of the dialogues, sharp humor, and especially by a critical treatment of women's issues: these four women find it particularly challenging to put their emancipation concerns into practice. Their behavior is shaped by personal fears and needs as well as by social norms and stereotypical expectations. Thus, the play acquires a political dimension and at the same time an existential depth that shines through the humorous facade.
