The richly illustrated catalog provides insights into William Kentridge's new chamber opera as well as the accompanying exhibition, embedded within the overall work of the great artist. The exhibition "Je n’attends plus" brings together some of the major works of the renowned South African artist William Kentridge, some of which have never been shown in Europe before. It accompanies the premiere of his new chamber opera "The Great Yes, The Great No" in July in Arles. Together, they offer a unique overview of Kentridge's work, which consistently engages with themes of migration, oppression, the transmission of history, and the role of the artist in a society under pressure through experimental and performative works.
