Acharya Yashodev Suri, born on January 7, 1916, in Dabhoi, Gujarat, was an outstanding Jain scholar and a prolific author, having written 77 books on various aspects of Jainism. He founded the Jain Sahitya Mandir in Palitana, an important pilgrimage site for the Shvetambar Jain community. Yashodev Suri was not only a writer but also a poet, contributing to the creation of the modern Jain Panchang over a period of 21 years. His most well-known creation, the Jain flag, made him a prominent figure in the Jain community. He passed away on August 30, 2006, leaving behind a significant legacy in Jain literature and culture.
