"Youth Violence and Engagement in Conflict Management" is a comprehensive study that examines the factors influencing youth involvement in politically motivated violence and their participation in conflict management in Nakuru County, Kenya. The research focuses on the Kaptembwo Estate, selected as one of the epicenters of the violence that occurred in Kenya after the 2007-2008 elections. Through an exploratory and descriptive research design that includes a cross-sectional survey with questionnaires and key informant guides, in-depth information about the community was gathered. The results indicate that youth participate in violent confrontations due to their low socioeconomic status as well as political and ethnic divisions. The study recommends that young people be engaged in activities that promote peaceful coexistence and cohesion among Kenyans to ensure sustainable peace and socioeconomic development.
