This book deals with the diverse educational ideas of Johann Amos Comenius, an important reform educator of the 17th century, and his efforts to make schools a more humane place and to support joyful learning. A historical overview of the difficult times of that era gives us an insight into how important and necessary Comenius' reforms were for the education system. The work also addresses the gradual change in learning culture, which has gained increasing significance and popularity among students due to the implementation of modern computer technology. Whether Comenius' didactic approaches are still practical today is examined in this work through literature comparisons and expert interviews in connection with Comenius' demands for a meaningful education system. Similarities and connecting approaches from Comenius' proposals, as well as from provocative and reform pedagogy and the Comenius platform, will be highlighted to show how they can enrich teaching meaningfully.
