The seeds of Hygrophila auriculata were collected in December 2019 from the national pharmacy in the Tirupattur district, Tamil Nadu, India. 25 g of the powdered seeds were soaked in 50 ml of aqueous methanol (90%). The filtered extract was concentrated and stored in a cool place for further studies. The presence of various phytochemicals in the Hygrophila auriculata seed extract was analyzed. Secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, phenols, glycosides, terpenoids, steroids, quinones, and proteins were identified. The extracts of the seed extract underwent thin-layer chromatography (TLC). All spots are colorless in daylight but are colored under UV light. The aqueous methanol extract showed six red, yellow, pink, and light yellow spots with RF values of 0.3, 0.4, 0.53, 0.73, 0.83, and 0.93.
