The seemingly random shape has been carefully studied to offer various uses and quantities for appetizers or starters. The shapes range from a small bowl for crackers to larger versions divided into two, three, or four sections. The unique contour of the shape with its indentations and folds, as well as the base, is ideal for sauces, keeping them separate from other foods. Clotet is among the designers who seek to challenge the perfection of form, a perfection that is now seen as a reflection of industrial production, which has moved far away from human thought and craftsmanship.
