Product details
Our unique paper bowls made from Korean Hanji paper combine modern design with traditional craftsmanship. The flexible Hanji paper bowls are water-resistant and can be used as stylish serving bowls or for storing jewelry, charging cables, pens, or other small items. The bowls can be freely shaped and combined according to your preference. This is sustainable design from South Korea!
Hanji: the traditional and sustainable paper of Korea. Hanji refers to the traditional Korean mulberry paper, which has a variety of high-quality properties. For centuries, it has been used in many aspects of life in Korea. Today, Hanji is being rediscovered as an eco-friendly, sustainably sourced natural material beyond Korea's borders. The raw material comes from the branches of one-year-old mulberry trees, which regrow after harvesting.
Freely shapeable: Our paper bowls are flexible and can be shaped by hand. Place your sheet in front of you. Now, shape the edges with one or both hands along the veins of the sheet. Your bowl is ready for use as a tray or serving dish.
Water-resistant and reusable: Our Hanji paper bowls are coated with a natural shellac that makes them water-resistant. Shellac is a completely natural resin that is biodegradable and physiologically safe. It is recognized as a food-safe material. The bowls can be quickly rinsed under running water or wiped with a damp cloth. They should then be gently dried with a towel. Shellac is sensitive to heat, so we recommend using our Hanji paper bowls only for cold and dry items or foods.
