Our Christmas folding card featuring a cozy woodcarving workshop in the Erzgebirge will delight all lovers of Erzgebirge folk art. It depicts a wood turner at work. The craft of wood turning was developed around 1800 in Seiffen in the Erzgebirge and remains an integral part of Erzgebirge folk art to this day. The wood turner shapes a piece of wood on a lathe, creating a wooden ring with the profile of the desired figure. These figures are used to make toys or to adorn Christmas pyramids.
