Ultima Thule was inspired by the melting ice in Lapland, whose surface Wirkkala developed in the 1960s after engraving the pattern into a casting mold. An exclusive design that represents the countless hours spent perfecting the glassblowing technique that creates this effect.

In honor of the 55th anniversary of the Ultima Thule glass collection designed by Tapio Wirkkala, Iittala is releasing three new vases in 2023, expanding this iconic collection with beautiful interior objects.

The small Ultima Thule vase, made from Vitro porcelain, is a stunning addition to any home decor. Its elegant, minimalist design adds sophistication to any interior and is ideal for small, delicate flowers or a small bouquet.
