For a successful Downpass audit, both announced and unannounced inspections are conducted on the breeding farms: Cages and force-feeding are prohibited, and any form of feather harvesting from live animals is forbidden. Adequate housing, sufficient supply of feed and fresh water, protection of animals from diseases and natural enemies, as well as care by knowledgeable staff are essential prerequisites for passing the audit.
