The maturing process of teak wood in nature takes up to 50 years until the tree has reached its full size and can be felled for timber production. Teak is known for its outstanding quality and durability and is often categorized into different grades that determine its appearance, structure, and longevity. Classification into grades A, B, and C helps to understand the diversity of teak and to make the right choice for specific needs and applications.

The top, front, drawer except for the back panel, doors, and sides of the cabinet are made of grade B teak. The sides and backs of the drawers and the shelf board are made of grade C teak. Grade B teak comes from the outer heartwood. It contains significantly more oils and resins and has a much darker color than grade C. Grade B teak is of very good quality, has a much longer service life than grade C, and is also suitable for wet rooms (bathrooms). Slight irregularities in color and texture result in a particularly interesting design. Grade C teak, on the other hand, comes from the outermost part of the tree, the sapwood.
