The Play Gradient Lightstrip 55 is not suitable for 42-inch televisions. It is specially designed for 55- to 65-inch sets and cannot be shortened. For your 42-inch LG OLED TV, you may be interested in alternative solutions, such as the Hue Gradient Tubes or the Hue Ambiance Gradient Lightstrip, which are more flexible to use. For specific recommendations for smaller TVs, I recommend consulting the Community.

According to the manufacturer's instructions, sources such as game consoles, etc. must be connected to the inputs of the Hue Synch Box. The Hue Sync Box is then connected to the TV, as the synchronisation of the picture with the LED lighting can only be achieved if the signal is routed through the Synch Box.

The 75" would be too long for your 55" TV, i.e. you would have to use the 55" version of the Lightstrip. And of course you would also need the Hue Sync Box to control the Lightstrip (please note that a new version has recently been released. Installation is very simple, but whether it's worth it depends on your taste. In any case, the effect is already very cool

Hello, I have mounted it on a Samsung 100" TV. So that it goes around the TV, I have a distance of about 25-30cm from the edge of the TV. The effect is fabulous and I wouldn't want to be without the Gradient Stiip. You have to combine the individual LED strips in the app for it to work. With the Gradient Strip, simply install and get started. The Gradient Strip is also slightly angled so that it projects onto the wall at an angle. The straight LED bank does not have this. And the Gradient Strip comes with 3 brackets for guiding/installing. So it's a carefree all-round package. But it costs a little more. You're sure to enjoy it. Greetings

I assume that you have wired the whole thing as follows: TV box (Apple TV, Sunrise, Swisscom box or similar) - Hue Sync Box - TV HDMI in? (Because the signal has to come from a TV box, Playstation etc., it doesn't work with TV only) If so, try a different HDMI output, I'm not sure anymore, but I meant only 2 and 4 work properly. And I also had to change my HDMI cables; I used 8K-capable ones straight away and it's worked perfectly since then.

Hy I have exactly the same constellation. I have this wall mount Vogels TVM 5855 and it works very well, the distance to the wall is pretty perfect for me, no better than the Philips TV. Best regards and have fun

For what purpose? I don't think it's possible to connect several of them together and anyway, you can only choose one colour at a time. Only when it is synchronised with music or a video does it display several colours. It is also not possible to synchronise two of them together, for example if you have a huge TV to surround with Lightstrip.

I have also installed the Lightstrip on my LG 55". They shine on the wall at a 45° angle and project about 20 cm above the screen, thus extending the TV picture on the wall. They are not flat LEDs and you have to think of it as a round piece of wood cut in half twice, i.e. 1/4. The cross-section looks like a quarter of a piece of pizza. The side of your leg is attached to the back of the TV and the other side looks down on the floor, so there is a 45° beam angle to the wall and also towards the ceiling. The light is always pleasant, looks great and has no delay. The difference to a Philips TV with built-in LEDs is that seven LEDs are always controlled with one colour and not every single LED can reproduce a different colour. However, with over 100 LEDs, this is not annoying.

The HUE gradient is not dependent on the TV. The HUE sync box is required. All players are connected to the syncbox via HDMI and the syncbox is connected to the TV via HDMI OUT. The syncbox then sends the picture information to the Gradient which reproduces the colours to match the picture. Programmes that are watched directly on the TV (e.g. Smart TV Apps such as Netflix Disney + etc.) are not recognised because they do not reach the syncbox via HDMI. I hope it's not written in too complicated a way 😅

The Lightstrip 55" is intended for 55-60" and has a length of 216.5 cm. So, if you attach the light strip according to the instructions at a distance of 5 to 8 cm from the edge of the cabinet, it will open exactly at the bottom left and right at both ends of the 55". I briefly compared the dimensions and calculated the difference, and I would say that this light strip is too long on the 47". But maybe measuring it yourself will show a different picture. However, you should bear in mind that the light strip should not be attached too close to the edge of the cabinet because the light effect could cause too direct a glare.

In addition to this product, you need 1x Philips Hue Bridge Philips Hue Bridge 1x Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box The Sync Box allows you to connect all your devices (TV box, chrome cast, PSx, XBox) and to synchronize the light with the Play Gradient Lightstrip. Be careful, you have to choose the Lightstrip according to the size of your TV.
