According to another review, you have to drill 5cm holes in the wall. Is that correct? Is there any other way to attach the whiteboard to the wall without damaging it?

Well, the whiteboard has its weight and the brackets are designed to be fixed with screws. Of course, you can also glue the whiteboard to the wall. But I bet that when you remove it, you take the whole wallpaper or plaster with you...
