Are the slats that support the lying surface glued together or can they be moved downwards? I would like to buy a pocket spring mattress and thus move the lying surface downwards so that the mattress does not stick out too high.

The slats can be mounted (screwed) at two different heights. In the lower version, the mattress is only about 15 cm above the floor, so that even a pocket spring mattress should not protrude too high.
