How do these spots do when hung behind a "conventional" dimmer switch? I would like to buy them for the living room (12 spots), including a bridge for full functionality. Currently, however, the lampholders are installed in 3 groups of 4 spots each behind 3 dimmer switches. Do I have to remove them all? Many thanks for your feedback

Helpful answer

We also have several in use and we had to have the light switches converted in each case. The Hue spots need permanent power (they have to send a signal to the bridge) and we could only do this by removing or bridging the classic light switches. It will be the same with the dimmer switches. You don't dim the spots with more or less current, but the spots dim themselves (through the app, Philips Hue switch, etc.). However, in my opinion/as far as I know, the power supply to the spots must be constant.

Hello
My spots are not connected to a dim switch, so I can't give you a reliable answer. However, I think it should work.
All the best

Hello,
there are Hue dimmers from Phillips, I can't say more about the topic because I dim the spots either via the app or via Smarthome.

To complete my 1st answer, it is essential to remove the dimmers on a Hue installation.

It's not easy to answer, as older dimmers are generally not compatible with LEDs.
When you dim the dimmer, the LEDs start flashing

Hue does not work well with conventional dimmer. They do operate when the dimmer is set to max but best you remove the dimmer from the switch or replace it with a Hue dimmer unit which can go in to the wall like normal.

Always keep the dimmer fully open and the Hue lamps work. At least for us.
