The SunSun JP-022F aquarium pump combines an aquarium filter and a circulation pump in one unit.

Circulation pumps play an important role in aquaristics, especially in saltwater aquariums, as corals and certain fish rely on natural currents. They simulate this natural flow within the aquarium. Often, circulation pumps are installed in opposing directions to create a diffuse current.

The currents generated by the aquarium pump limit the settling of unwanted sediments on the bottom of the aquarium. The outlet nozzle, measuring 13 mm, can be tilted 45° to the left and right, allowing for optimal placement within the aquarium. A hose connected to the outlet nozzle can additionally supply fresh air to the aquarium water.

The pump performance is 600 l/h and can be used in aquariums with a water volume of approximately 80 liters. The wear-free stainless steel shaft ensures a long lifespan for the aquarium pump.

The integrated aquarium filter features two filter stages that can be easily exchanged or mounted individually. Each filter stage contains a filter sponge that provides a large surface area for beneficial bacteria to settle. Additionally, the filter sponges prevent the entry of suspended particles into the pump body of the aquarium pump. The use of filter sponges helps reduce nitrate levels in the aquarium and cleans the aquarium water of chemical contaminants.

When purchasing a new aquarium filter or after a complete cleaning, it is necessary to re-establish the beneficial bacteria. There are special bacterial cultures that can be added to the aquarium filter to facilitate the start-up process.
