The Tetra Test KH accurately and reliably measures the carbonate hardness of aquarium and pond water. Carbonate hardness (KH) acts as a pH buffer and prevents a sudden drop in the pH level of the water (acid crash). The KH value affects the health of fish, plants, and especially important microorganisms. The ideal KH value for ornamental fish is between 3 and 10° dH. It offers good long-term stability and a high range. Suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums as well as ponds.
