A lot of space is needed to keep poultry in a species-appropriate way. In addition to daily exercise in a large free-range enclosure, these animals also need a spacious retreat where they are protected from predators and the weather. This chicken coop offers a free-range area plus a sheltered room for roosting and can be used in addition to a large free-range enclosure and a spacious coop to supplement poultry farming.

The chicken coop has external dimensions of 144 x 52.5 x 68.5 cm and has two interconnected areas. The house is fitted with a window and a window flap at the front. Both can be opened if required, so that the inside is easily accessible. The floor of the house is a so-called manure tray, which is galvanised and can be easily pulled out. This makes it easy to clean the floor of the house.

The chicken coop is made of high-quality wood and painted in two shades of grey. The colour not only provides a modern look, but also protects the wood from the weather. Both the window in the house and the free-range enclosure are fitted with weatherproof wire made of galvanised steel. The distance between the bars is 2 x 5.5 cm. The roofs are covered with water-repellent bitumen to keep the house and the outdoor run dry.

Note: Although chickens are not large animals, they also need enough space to live. There must be 10 square metres available per chicken. As chickens are not solitary animals, there must be enough space for a whole group. A group can consist of one cockerel and three to six hens. This group size therefore requires at least between 40 and 70 square metres of space.
