Some of our utensils are varnished to prevent them from oxidizing or losing their shine during storage, as in the case of decorative products. For lacquered household utensils, it is essential to remove the lacquer before use. Please follow these instructions to remove the varnish: fill a large container with water and soak the piece from which you want to remove the varnish; add a soup spoon of sodium bicarbonate for every litre of water; put it on the cooker and let it boil for 15 minutes. You will see the varnish come off the product; wash the utensil with soap and water, dry the inside with a clean cloth, and if you want to maintain the external shine of the piece, use a polish. If, at the end of the cleaning process, you notice that there is still varnish in some places, you can easily remove it with a cloth soaked in acetone. It is very important that you remove all the varnish before using the utensil; otherwise, it will darken due to the heat of the oven.
