Lacquer removal: Some of our utensils are lacquered to prevent oxidation or loss of shine during storage, especially decorative products. For lacquered household utensils, it is essential to remove the lacquer before use. To do this, fill a large container with water and soak the piece you want to de-lacquer. Add a soup spoon of sodium bicarbonate for every litre of water, place it on the stove, and let it boil for 15 minutes. You will see the lacquer come off the product. Wash the utensil with soap and water, dry the inside with a clean cloth, and if you want to maintain the external shine, use a polish. If you notice any remaining lacquer after cleaning, you can easily remove it with a cloth soaked in acetone. It is very important to remove all the lacquer before using the utensil; otherwise, it may darken due to the heat.
