When Alfredo Häberli designed this glass series for the Finnish tableware manufacturer iittala, he had in mind that they should form an appealing and balanced ensemble on the table. Not the untidy appearing but usual "up" and "down" in the height of the glasses should disturb an elegantly designed table. That is why Alfredo Häberli designs the feet and stems of each glass to be the same length. Even the proportions of the goblets are similar: the red wine glass is consistently wider in the diameter of the goblet than the white wine glass, which Alfredo Häberli designs just a little wider than the usual "champagne flute", the champagne glass. All Essence glasses by iittala are dishwasher safe and can be gripped securely due to their flat, less bulbous glass shape.
